Rain Squall
Water – watercolor… Its about the water moving the pigment. Its physics! and the chemistry of the pigment how heavy it is determines how it will move in the water. That is what we must learn so we know what we can express with this medium.
To start, put some water on your paper. Then drip in pigment watch what it does. Add more water what happens? How many different ways can you add water? What is the ration of water to pigment? This last when it dawned on me to track this was a major breakthrough. I can have a puddle of 10% pigment with 90% water but only use a little bit of it to create a high value color. You don’t need a lot of the mixture. If you use a lot of the mixture it will run all over.
Also how do you contain where pigment goes? It will only go where there is water!
