JAPANESE STYLE GOLD LEAF SCREENS
Original Asian Ink Paintings of Downeast Maine on Gold Leaf.
This is a classic technique using traditional Asian painting materials.First paper is stretched on wooden panels with a sea weed glue.
This is treated to make it waterproof. Next adhesive is applied. Gold leaf sheets are laid onto this surface.
If compositional gold or silver leaf is used, it has to be coated so that it does not oxidize.
